Our client is building a Robotics Centre of Excellence focused on industrial deployments, Sim-to-Real research, and joint R&D labs with hardware manufacturers. They are hiring a Chief Architect – Robotics & Embodied AI to lead the full robotics systems stack.
Role
From low-level embedded firmware and actuator control to high-level autonomy, perception, and fleet management – this leader will drive Problem-First research, develop deployable robotic solutions, and establish joint R&D labs with hardware OEMs.
Responsibilities:
- Direct research in Sim-to-Real transfer, human-robot collaboration, and edge computing
- Define the reference architecture for modular robotic systems spanning mobile robots, manipulators, drones, and cobots
- Lead design of perception pipelines using LiDAR, RGB-D cameras, and proprioceptive sensing
- Govern software architecture across the ROS 2 middleware stack, RTOs, and hardware abstraction layers
- Establish at least 3 joint R&D labs with hardware manufacturers by Year 3; file minimum 5 patents/year
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Master’s in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science (robotics specialisation)
- 12+ years in robotics R&D or engineering; 4+ years as systems architect or technical lead
- Expert command of ROS/ROS 2, C++/Python, SLAM, MoveIt!, and real-time control architectures
- Familiarity with NVIDIA Isaac platform; track record of deploying autonomous systems in safety-critical environments preferred
