Our client is building an authoritative applied cybersecurity hub focused on innovation, skills development, and government advisory. They are hiring a Chief Architect – Cyber Defence & Sovereign Security as their highest technical authority on information and operational security architecture.
Role
Define the security posture, reference architectures, and research agenda for the centre – monetising expertise through government advisory contracts, certification programmes, and sponsored research.
Responsibilities:
- Architect Zero Trust frameworks for cloud-native, hybrid, and OT/ICS environments
- Develop post-quantum cryptographic standards aligned with NIST FIPS 203/204
- Design and oversee a state-of-the-art cyber range and SOC lab
- Lead workforce development including industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, OSCP)
- Serve as technical advisor to government agencies on critical infrastructure protection
- Secure government and enterprise advisory contracts (minimum 5/year)
Qualifications:
- Master’s in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or Computer Science
- 14+ years in information security; 5+ years in a CISO, Chief Security Architect, or equivalent role
- Deep expertise in network security, EDR, SIEM platforms (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel)
- CISSP, CISM, SABSA SCF, or TOGAF (security specialisation) strongly preferred
- Prior engagement with national cybersecurity agencies is a plus
